BUON NATALE FROM CUCINA RUSTICA!

Have you ever wondered how Italians traditionally celebrate during the Christmas holidays?Depending on the region, for some Italians, Christmas begins at the beginning of December and the celebrations continue through to the day of Epiphany on January 6th. Traditionally, on Christmas Eve, there is often no food eaten during the day, to prepare for the festive celebrations which officially start after midnight mass. This year, our team at Cucina Rustica has taken a lot of time planning our beautifully festive menu, which runs until 31st December. You can choose a 3 course lunchtime menu for £26.95, or alternatively a 3-course dinner menu for £31.95.If you haven’t already seen the menu, we have included some of our festive favourites, so you can truly spoil yourself this Christmas.

To start the evening, we offer 5 Christmas appetisers for you to choose from ranging from meat to fish, to vegetarian.

1. Carpaccio Di Manzo

Invented in Venice in the 1950s, our Carpaccio Di Manzo, named after Venetian painter Vittore Carpaccio, combines thinly sliced raw beef, topped with rocket, pecorino shavings, celeriac horseradish, a drizzle of olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. It’s the perfect way to tease an appetite whilst you wait for your main course.

When deciding on your main course, you'll be spoiled for choice with dishes ranging from beautifully braised lamb shank to traditional turkey, risotto and fish. Our 6 main dishes will have your mouth watering before the meal has even arrived. All our dishes are served with mixed vegetables and chateau potatoes.

2. Tagliata De Filetto

Our Tagliata Di Filetto is perfect for the meat lover. Tender prime beef fillet cooked just the way you like it and seasoned with fresh thyme, rosemary and oregano, drizzled in our homemade brandy cream and peppercorn sauce.

3. Pollo Con Gamberi

If you’re not a lover of red meat, we wonder if our Pollo Con Gamberi may take your fancy. Beautiful flavours are brought out in this dish which delivers a generous portion of chicken on a bed of fresh tomatoes and silver onions, covered by a deliciously rich lobster and prosecco sauce. The shell-on crevette is the perfect addition to this wonderful dish created by our Head Chef.

4. Branzino Selvaggio

If you’d like to try something a little lighter for your main, then we would recommend our Branzino Selvaggio. A whole filleted sea bass, accompanied with fresh water baby prawns, a squeeze of lemon and fresh cherry tomatoes. Saffron, the golden, flavoursome spice which has seasoned food for years is weaved into a creamy white wine sauce, to give this dish a little extra zing!

5. Torta Di Ricotta

Finish your evening with one of our freshly prepared desserts, which will fulfil that sweet craving you’ve been looking for. Amongst the options is our delightfully sweet Torta Di Ricotta, a light vanilla cheesecake, mixed fruit coulis and fresh strawberries… delicious!
