Italian cocktails you’ll love at Cucina Rustica

We serve up great modern Italian food, but we’re all about the cocktails, too! Enjoyed out on our terrace on a sunny day against the beautiful backdrop of St Paul’s Church in the Jewellery Quarter, or in our stylish restaurant, you’ll love these fine Italian cocktails at Cucina Rustica.

APEROL SPRITZ

Italian summer in a glass! Bright orange in colour and with a combination of sweet Aperol liqueur, fizzy Prosecco and a splash of soda water, it's refreshing with a bitter-sweet aftertaste. Originating from Italy, Aperol is an infusion of herbs and roots with two of its most distinctive flavours being oranges and rhubarb. This classic is perfect for summer or for times when you need to flashback through your taste buds to sunny memories of an Italian holiday. It’s impossible not to love.

ESPRESSO MARTINI

So it’s not quite a classic Italian cocktail but you can’t think of espresso and not think of Italy. And since the Italians brought espresso to the UK, that’s basically our argument for adopting this dark, handsome London-born cocktail as an Italian(ish) cocktail. We make our espresso martini with vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso and sugar. Dark, rich, heavenly goodness!

NEGRONI

The ultimate Italian tipple. This iconic Italian cocktail combines gin, vermouth rosso and Campari, and is garnished with orange peel. It’s traditionally considered an aperitif taken before a meal to stimulate the appetite, but it’s also perfect for a solo Gin O’Clock session on a Friday, too. Bliss!

BELLINI

Much like the Negroni, Bellinis have become a standard on just about every British cocktail menu. But this firm favourite has its beginnings in Italy. Whether it’s a classic peach bellini, a raspberry or a strawberry bellini, we all love a glass of this fruity fizz to start the night, or to end a delicious Italian meal (anyone else?). Made with strawberry puree and topped with good Italian prosecco, our Strawberry Bellini is bit of British and Italian goodness all beautifully muddled up in one cocktail.

PEACH BELLINI MOCKTAIL

It’s not all about the alcohol! Whether you don’t drink or you’re the designated driver, you can still enjoy that sweet, peachy, fizzy goodness with this Peach Bellini Mocktail, made with peach puree, grenadine and soda water. If there’s any other cocktail you’d like to mocktail, just ask our talented bar staff who’ll be happy to mix up some equally delicious booze-free versions for you.If we’ve got your heart racing with these delicious Italian concoctions, come and join us at Cucina Rustica in Birmingham’s picturesque Jewellery Quarter.
