Birmingham’s first ever Secret Supper for Parkinson’s UK

When we were asked to be involved with Secret Supper to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, we jumped at the chance, especially upon hearing how fabulous the idea was.

HOW DID IT WORK?

Guests each enjoyed a three-course meal, at three different restaurants, and they didn’t find out where they’d be dining until they opened their top-secret envelopes on the night! The drinks reception and Charity raffle was held at The Jam House, where each guest received a beverage and their surprise envelope.Encouraged to sit next to someone new for each course, Secret Supper proved to be a great networking opportunity whereby new friendships were formed, and old ones celebrated. Everybody seemed to have a great time and we were honoured to be part of the special event.

WHO WAS INVOLVED?

Six restaurants were involved in The Secret Supper event. We served up a menu full of Cucina favourites. All of which seemed to go down a treat with all three groups welcomed through our doors. (You can read the menu we served at the bottom of this page).Aside from ourselves, five other restaurants, all located around St Pauls Square, hosted the meal that saw 165 people enjoy food from Jewellery Quarter favourites. Pasta di Piazza, Locanta, The Jam House, Anderson’s Bar and Grill and St Pauls House also served up a delicious menu for Parkinson’s.It was an incredible event to be part of, and we’re so happy we could be involved in raising money and awareness for such an incredible cause.

WHAT IS PARKINSON'S?

It is a progressive neurological condition for which there is currently no cure. It affects 145,000 people in the UK, with an estimated 12,300 people living with Parkinson’s in the West Midlands. Parkinson’s UK make it their mission to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's through cutting edge research, information, support and campaigning. To raise awareness and money to fund this work is vital if the quality of life is to continue being improved for those with Parkinson’s.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

Parkinson’s Midlands have already revealed they are planning on making this an annual event, so keep your eyes peeled for the next one! If you would like to be the first to know about the 2020 Secret Supper, you can pre-register by sending an email to Gayle Kelly at gkelly@parkinsons.org.uk using the subject ‘2020 Secret Supper’.However, until then, you can find out how you can get involved with Parkinson’s UK by visiting this page.
